Seller Notes: “Vintage Mexican Michoacan Uruapan Victoriano Salgado Morales (1920-2012) Ethnographic Folk Art hand ... “Vintage Mexican Michoacan Uruapan Victoriano Salgado Morales (1920-2012) Ethnographic Folk Art hand carved wood horned black 'Astucia/Cunning' Diablo, Demon, Devil mask. Real cow and goat teeth. Inset goat horns. Glossy black hand lacquered or maque ground with red detail at nose & mouth. Two menacing slit eye holes. Open mouth, with a sinister grin. Numerous inset teeth. Hardware for hanging has been removed. Mask can be hung on wall or displayed free-standing. Hand-written in capital letters "DE PASTORELA ASTUCIA". Otherwise unmarked, unsigned, no labels or tags. Attributed to Victoriano Salgado Morales. In VG+ vintage condition with only minor signs of age and wear, a nice glossiness and a few scratches and dings to maque lacquer finish. Measures approx 14 inches tall including horns, 11 inches wide from horn to horn, 8.50 inches tall and 6.50 inches wide wood portion of mask, and 5.50 inches deep. Weighs approx 1.50 lbs. Will weigh between 3 and 4 lbs packaged.”
