I think that is the one that controls the chime as it is now it does not chime. The key that came with the clock the small end that is used for the top gear for adjusting the speed seems to big but you can turn that with anything small(pliers tweezers etc...)The clock works there is some discoloration on the slate and one side is abnormally dull. The dull side brightens up with any oil. The branding on the front is wearing to the point of it is hard to make out. There is a little discoloration and dent around the whole where the key to wind up goes in.”
